11th Autism West Midlands Shropshire Conference - 26th March 2020

Autism and Anxiety

Our 11th Shropshire Autism conference will once again provide opportunities to hear expert speakers, share ideas and chat with others who have similar experiences.

Our keynote speaker this year is Corey Wood who will talk about his personal journey with autism and anxiety; his difficult years in school, learning how to manage his anxiety and success in his chosen career.

There will be an opportunity to attend two workshops (one before and one after lunch)

• Analysing behaviours and positive support

• Cognitive-behavioural therapy for children with autism and anxiety

• Supporting anxiety in children and young people

• How meditation and mindfulness can support autistic young people

• Managing sensory needs and developing motor skills

• Moving into work: support for autistic adults in the workplace

• Autism and Spoon Theory: a model to explain energy use in autism

• School, anxiety and the autism spectrum

• Stress management for parents

• Support at university
